How Should We Respond?
What does this New York Time’s bestselling author, celebrated educator, pastor, global evangelists, and director of the National Institute of Christian Leadership think about our current circumstances? I recently had the honor of hosting Dr. Mark Rutland in an online discussion regarding the events of our times. It was a power-packed thirty minutes. I really should have asked for an hour! The amount of wisdom and hope dropped into these thirty minutes is mind-boggling and soul comforting! I believe you’ll agree.
Truths To Live By
Here are a few of the truths that stood out to me:
These times are unprecedented for our generation but the Church has gone through things like this before. And we’ll make it through now!
- Living in faith doesn’t make us exempt from all trouble!
- I do not have to live in fear during these times.
- Fear shrinks your life in every way. It is crippling!
- The number one key to walking free from fear is to invite perfect love into the circumstance.
- Perfect love isn’t a concept or principle but the Person of Jesus Christ!
- Let everything we do be motivated out of love for the Lord and love for people.
- Take a fresh look at The Lord’s Prayer and Psalm 23 and apply their deep truths for times like these. Learn to pray through them again!
- Death isn’t the worse thing that can happen to a Christian! We win either way!
- The Church is learning the value of technology and becoming more adept at using it.
- A greater appreciation is rising in Christians for the gathering!
- Whatever date is our first Sunday back together in a facility, consider it a Resurrection service!
- The level of celebration will be contagious!
- Hopefully, the ultimate result of this valley will be an awakening in our generation!
I’m getting pumped up just typing in these few snippets. As you listen you will feed your faith and starve fear to death! Remember, nothing we are going through caught God by surprise. It is history to Him. It may be happening to us but He already made the provision for us to come through into greater victory! Hope remains!
