I’m not sure what’s up with Facebook? It may be nothing. It may be us. Perhaps it is something on our side technically – we are looking into it. We don’t yet know.
We are very grateful to FB that they allow us to stream our live content without paying a monthly fee. Through their platform, we are provided an opportunity to reach thousands of people that we might not otherwise reach. Facebook also generously provides a platform for fundraising through their site without charging any processing fees. So please don’t read this as a bashing of the social media platform.
However, a few times in the last few months, our FB live stream has suddenly dropped in the middle of a service. Our live stream continued to play but with a hiccup so we could have an issue with the internet or malfunctioning equipment. We checked to see if it is a software issue with our streaming provider and they assure us it isn’t. It may not be deliberate at all, but it is odd.
What is interesting is that the shut down occurred each time just a few moments after a comment made regarding government, abortion or homosexuality. If it isn’t related, it is wildly coincidental. We will try to continue to give Facebook the benefit of the doubt. But it is increasingly difficult with all we are reading regarding the censoring of voices that oppose the liberal views of sexuality, life, and government. For instance, just this week a headline read Facebook Blocks Pastor’s Pro-Life Message to Cuomo. Evidently, they censored his appeal to the Governor to reconsider the position New York took concerning abortion to be offensive.
So while it may only be a comedy of coincidences, we want to take steps to ensure that our message isn’t hindered from reaching all over the world, at any time and in every place possible. One way to ensure a broadened reach is to make more friends aware of our YouTube channel and to take the channel to a new level. So a couple of days ago, we sent out messages in Messenger which encouraged friends to subscribe to our YouTube channel. They shut us down. Facebook disabled the links and informed me that I violated policy. Now, it was most likely the volume of the messages sent that violated the policy but still…
We believe our YouTube channel can be a source of strength to you via our weekly TV program, inspirational clips and soon our LIVE services and events.
