God Encounters for this Generation

TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Do you sometimes stop and shake your head at the headlines? I certainly do! Sometimes, I shake my head at the crazy antics of this generation. Oftentimes, it is in amazement at the logic, or lack thereof, among this generation. Far too often, it is with tears running down my cheeks and a cry from my heart at the results of sin. We are in trouble!

This generation is in desperate need of a genuine encounter with God. They need Jesus. I mean, the real Jesus not the Jesus who is a super version of me or you but the Jesus who was, is and will return. I’m talking about the Jesus of the Bible.

When I was just a five-year-old, He encountered me, and I’ve never been the same! I can take you to the place where He came to me. I still remember the moment vividly and give thanks constantly for His love. That encounter marked my life and the touch of God I experienced that night has kept me from many traps the enemy laid for me. Margie’s testimony is very similar, and our hearts burn with a desire for every child and teenager in the world to also experience the living Jesus in such a transforming way.

I used to think that the greatest sign of God’s power is shown in those that He delivered from drugs, alcohol, or sexual addictions. But I now believe that it takes even greater grace for young people who are raised in the Church to come to a true relationship with Christ! Being raised in Church, they see it all; the good, bad and ugly. They come to realize there are people who pretend far more than they intend. They see the ugliness of people who claim His name but aren’t after His heart. Churched youth learn how to say the right things, lift their hands at the right moments, and act like they believe even if they don’t.

This is why after 22 years we are still passionate about youth camp.Our desire is to consistently create an atmosphere where young men and women can experience the authentic Jesus. We seek to blend fun with the fire of the Holy Spirit. We have non church kids who come every year and we are praying for this number to grow. But the majority of our attendees are church youth! We want to see them come to a true relationship with Jesus and help the local church train these young men and women in how to discern between people’s junk and the real Jesus!

There are two aspects to an encounter with the Lord that wrecks us and puts on the path of seeking more and more of Him. By design we want every Tribe participant to experience an encounter with the truth of Jesus that brings lasting freedom and experience the unforgettable glorious power of the Holy Spirit that changes everything.

We are less than a week away from Camp Tribe 2019! And we need your help! I am looking for those who will commit to pray each day from NOW until camp closes on July 12. Will you be a prayer partner with us for awakening and revival in this generation?

I also need some friends who will step up as 2019 Tribe Ambassadors and help us make up the difference between registration fees and the total cost of operating the camp and our EDA program. These two outreaches over the past 22 years have impacted tens of thousands of lives. We often receive testimonies from youth still remembering the touch of God at camp. To be honest, some of them went astray. But they reach out to us, years later, because they believe in us and remember the encounter with God at Camp.

Our summer budget is $25,000 beyond the registrations. I am blessed to say that already, close to $7,500 has come in. Will you help us with the remaining $17,500? Your gift of any amount will be huge for us this summer. I’m going to ask you to consider a gift of $100 or more. If you can’t do it, I understand. But if you can stretch for this worthy cause of impacting a generation with the truth of Jesus, the impact will be awesome.
